Moissac, historical city...
On the way to Saint Jacques de Compostelle, Moissac, due to its splendid cloister, is wellknown everywhere in the French Occitan region. With 76 capitals, showing all the types of sculptures of Middle-Age, the cloister is very often considered as the most beautiful roman monastery in the world. Besides the Cloister, Gothic and Roman styles can be admired in the Abbey . This one had been built on 1063 and were enlarged by monks until the 15th century .The tympanum sculpture of the portal shows St John's Apocalypse.
